Erika Lopez Missing in California: Family Says She Stopped Taking Medicine

| Erika's family says she stopped taking her schizophrenia medicine before she disappeared |
Her family says she recently stopped taking her medicine, which is not uncommon for schizophrenics. They come to believe they'll be fine without it, but its absence only produces a confused, manic state.
And that has Erika's relatives worried, since she hasn't been seen since August 24. (See a Facebook page devoted to finding her.)
At the moment, there's no suggestion of foul play. The problem is that if Erika isn't in her right mind, foul play could find her very quickly. She's a small woman, weighing only 95 pounds at 4-feet-11. She was last seen wearing a pink sweatshirt and white sweatpants.

They found her in Irvine, CA. She was in her brother's custody at that time and she is now undergoing medical treatment. Updates are available on the Facebook page set up with their mission dedicated to finding her, not to discuss her facial features...
No update on this missing young lady Outcome does not sound good. I am praying she is ok. Not taking meds at all does not sound good. has the family gone to calif to try to find out where she might be like starting at the apt where she was living.
I thought I was going to read some insightful and helpful responses on here. I am quite sure this is a site for mentally challenged people, mean people, or juveniles. From some reponses, I see some of you have children, or say you do. I hope they stay safe and people are not on here saying silly and hateful things while you are searching for your child. I won't be back on this site since it's not a serious blog.
I really hope she is safe. No foul play not taking meds is bad. Missing now over 1 month. I am praying she will come home safe.
wow i cant believe how shallow so many people can be. poor girl is missing and her family is so worried. and all most of you are concerned about is the line on her lips and how low her shorts are . i hope your found safe erika god bless you and your family
Dang, Bhoebs, that's some eye you've got there. I dunno, sometimes it seems to be a fashion statement when they can't get jeans to ride low enough, to fold over the belt strip of the pants.
I'll keep an eye out for her here in phoenix. make sure I got the stats right 95 pounds at 4-feet-11 and in superior physical and mental health.
I ususally have something smart ass to say but in this case here isn't. I hope she's found safe. She should probably also go home and stay with her family for a while.
If everyone put in the time and effort into finding Erika rather than bitching and joking she may have been found by now, you should all be ashamed of yourselves.

I'm helping as much I can - as you might have noticed, I'm from New Helladonia & I'm doing my damn best to find her from here! No offense S Papaya,we have so many from this area all the way to CA - it's truly pathetic - if you need help, no doubt there's people helping - afterall, this is on a major website - everyone sees this (no, they don't employ me, yet).
Um sure, I'll just tell my boss that I need some time off even though I don't get paid time. Then I'll buy a plane ticket from Ny to Ca even though I have to get my kid school clothes and supplies and a plane ticket that is not in the budget. Then I'll go try to find somebody in an area I don't know. I'm sure I could do a much better job than say the police or her family even.
Sorry S, but I don't feel anyone is joking about the health & welfare of Erika - everyone (for the most part) wants her to be found safe. If you are on this site frequently, you must know how many sad situations there are (hence, the site name!) that may involve despicable, deranged, mindless, stupid, thoughtless, idiots, pedophiles, murderers, rapist and such - come on - there has to be some lightness here & there or we'll all go insane!
If you feel that way than you shouldn't post. Persoanlly knowing Erika and her family well. It isn't a joking matter. And if it were your family or anyone you knew well, you wouldn't be either...

My daughter just fell face down yesterday on the carpet while telling me some crap and I just couldn't stop laughing. Then she hit me. And we both couldn't stop laughing!

Glad I could help...lol I think we all do on here...it makes us crazy what some of these criminals do and unfortunately there is nothing we can do but vent our anger, disappointment, sadness... on this forum that Pete so graciously provides.
how come when a white woman goes missing I have to look for her???????? come on now ......ppl go missing everyday but its always the blond girls who gets the attention....no direspect....hope that her crazy ass turns up alive
perhaps it would have seem more respectful if you had just said you hoped she is found safe and returned to her family
when I first read it, I just thought - maybe it's her way of hoping she has a safe return... I don't like the work "crazy" unless you're talking about me** and well "ass"... I can be that too. (**disclaimer - most TCR reports are about crazy asses so in that case - go for it :)
That is not true, Shonae, it's due to her family's efforts that this is public knowledge. Possibly if more families put int the efforts Erika's did more people would know about them. Also, "crazy" ass... really? Everyone who makes jokes or talks nonsense regarding an issue such as this one should be ashamed. Erika is a real person, a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend to people. And disrespecting someone when a family is in need is appauling.
Sorry to hear how upset you are.... unfortunately there are so many that go missing & they don't get the attention they deserve - I think we hear of the more extreme cases....?? Maybe even the ones that the families/friends make the most noise over & keep the press going?? Ie. Natalie Holloway, one of the theories that had come up in hers & other situations is white skinned blonde girls go for a decent price in sex-slave situation esp in other countries...... I don't know if that's true but it certainly shouldn't undermine anyone that is missing no matter what.
