Sir Wilfred Camaligan, Anime Weirdo, Tortured, Kept Girlfriend Captive for 2 Months

That's how he found his 20-year-old girlfriend in June, when they met at the Anime Central convention in Chicago.
They began conserving on Facebook and soon started dating. Within a month, she'd moved into his apartment.
But she apparently didn't attend one panel discussion at the convention, which dealt with dysfunction within anime culture and a specific problem with male fans who struggle to relate to women and occasionally act violently toward them.
Perhaps that's the downside of 22-year-olds who are still way into cartoons. Who wouldda thought?
That discussion turned true soon after the girl moved in. It seems Camaligan quickly became jealous and possessive, refusing to allow his sweetheart to leave the apartment. So he held her captive for two months, deciding her devotion could only be achieved with torture.
He carved an X into her breast, beat her with a stick and a crowbar, chocked her to the point of unconsciousness and made her kneel on rice. He also made her cut herself.
But after two months of captivity, Camaligan must have believed that he'd finally won her heart. So he allowed to leave the apartment to run an errand.
But instead of shopping, the girl flagged down a stranger and borrowed a cell phone to call her mother. And that brought police into the picture.
Now, instead of having a kidnapped girlfriend, Camaligan's charged with attempted murder, aggravated domestic battery and kidnapping. A judge refused to even grant him bail.
