If you read the book you will see that the david mack conspiracy theory was just that, a theory that unraveled once evidence was uncovered.

I have heard this cop in an interveiw before...I believe he lost his job for his "theories".

I wouldn't be surprised if this cop, and that Keffe D(or whatever the fuck his name is)lose their lives over this....those are some strong accusations, against some powerful(well, rich)people.
