Amanda Knox: Why Being Pretty Can Hurt You In a Murder Trial

• ok that made me laugh.... 

• Got to agree she is extremely plain, nothing special about her at all.

• You're on to me, don't spiel the beans... Have to agree with Nancy Grace on this one...even though she can be intolerable and interrupts and gets jealous of women guests ...as former prosecutor she said she watched pretty women let off easy, homely women not so much, men assumed guilty before innocent, suppose the solution is if you're a woman on trial, fix the hair up put on a sexy dress and wear the stilettos, if you're a guy, same thing...

• knew that spiel was coming...lol

• Woman + pretty = no conviction, if conviction then light sentence or probation Woman + homely = still have woman card favor but jury more likely to assume guilt Man + ugly or handsome = you're screwed

• She's got the forehead of a dolphin...I think she's only okay looking...but I'm sure other people looked at her and said she's too cute for jail and baby murdering...

• Knox isn't pretty, she looks like something puked up by a spiny ant-eater

• and good looks is part of why Casey Anthony was excused. If she had been an ugly woman, or a man,  there would have been a conviction for second degree murder, or at the very least, child abuse.

• In extreme deference to the corrupt American legal system and govt. where she would have been beaten to death by now.  I guess more people in Europe are literate and actually understand that "beyond a reasonable doubt" does not have the same meaning as "Jim Bob and Tamara seem to think she might have done it, so I'm going with that." The more interesting part of this story by far was the erroneous verdict announcement put out by MSNBC stating that she was guilty complete with fabricated observations of reactions to the guilty verdict by Knox and Kercher's family.  LOL.  MSNBC doesn't just report the news, they INVENT it! I wonder how many of the other networks do the same thing?  I wonder how many stories are never corrected.    Something to think about next time they attract your attention with their cute kitten and puppy videos and then tell you how mentally ill and in need of treatment you are.  LOL.

• Maybe she can hook up with Anthony and open a restaurant... to be honest, Knox don't look nothing special to me, she reminds me of a ferret. I suppose if you restrict yourself to killers who got lucky you can't be too choosy.

• She is free, now she can start to try to feel normal again- which will never happen --but I , for one, hope she can find a new normal -- Good Luck Amanda!!!, may you surround yourself with people that have unconditional love- don't stress your average American neighbor- for they are bound to be an asshole

• from everything i've learned about this case, she's guilty as hell.  i always thought she was plain looking anyway... i don't get what the fuss is about...she's a nondescript blahhh looking girl. who cares! RIP meredith kercher :(

• Either way, I bet she never eats pasta again. I know I sure the hell wouldn't!

• I think the author has a very good point. How come her boyfriend wasn't assailed as she was, as being a  devil and manipulator? I think if Amanda knox was plain, there wouldn't have been the whole sexual motive hinted at, because people would be less likely to see her as sexual. I mostly think her being american was what hurt her, like it did with the american hikers. It can work against you. I think she was innocent, just naive and stupid.

• She had her conviction overturned....and being good looking is more likely to get you off than to get you convicted...the way our stupid justice system works...hence why so many female sexual predators that are not chuds get probation instead of hard time...
