Breakfast reading from the Village Voice Empire: After Bashline's girlfriend found his body, cops looked into his athlete-drug-testing side business as a motive. But now sources think he met a male suspect in custody online while looking for a different kind of balling. Westword has the story.

tom was a great man and did not deserve this cruel act this world is a far worse place without him. this was no accident.
I would like to think that this may have been an accident. Perhaps someone discharged a gun from another location and the bullet found a victim by chance. There is not enough evidence thus far to make a comment or even a guess. I would only pray that this is an accident as he sounds as if he was a well liked man with a family and many friends.
I seriously doubt this was some freak accident by discharge of a weapon from somewhere else seeing as how the probable murder weapon was found in the victim's truck which had been stolen after death by the suspect. The same suspect that was picked up and brought into his home by the victim. Either the suspect brought the gun to the rendez-vous because he was planning to rob the victim (or worse), or the suspect habitually travelled around with a handgun everywhere and all the swinging from the chandeliers just caused the gun to discharge. I'm guessing the former though.
You've replied to a comment made by me over a week ago. Since, the story has brought forth new evidence and additional circumstance. There may, and now it's probable that there was foul play but as to if the suspect is a good one has yet to be seen.
Sorry Ric, this was presented as a new story - i didn't notice the time stamp on the previous posts. So now i'm guilty of that which pisses me off the most when it happens to me - some wiseguy harassing me for an opinion based on information that has since been updated... ;)
