WTF I can't believe it
in almost all states if you commit a felony or a high misdemeanor, and you are a current police officer, emt/paramedic, or a firefighter or a government official, wiether elected or hired, are arrested and are convicted, you automatically lose your pension and benefits, and barred from holding public office or a government job in the state where you were convicted for life. New Jersey is one of the. New Jersey law also prohibit double dipping of state government paid pensions.
certainly, because you can bet that was not the first, nor a one time thing, just when he got caught
I think, when you are a cop, and you are arrested and charged, and found guilty for child pornography(among other equally disgusting things), you should lose your pension. The taxpayers who were paying his salary, were doing so with the understanding that he was 'Protecting & Serving', NOT 'Connecting & Perving'. So actually, he shouldn't have earned anything, except maybe more time.
Unfortunately, you're right on the money.
Too much, obviously. lol
"forced to register as a sex offender" A statement like that sounds like someone put a gun to his head until he was in the system.... More like required to register.
His internet connection? the power cord to his computer? =)
He earned the pension but, he is still a bad man
$86,000 a year in retirement. What the hell was he making as a cop?
Not surprised. For some reason we as a society have elevated mere p0licemen to an exalted status, up there with soldiers and clergymen. Turns out that all of these brotherhoods are full of crooks, and no one within these organizations wants to face the facts. Give the crooked cops and priests a slap on the wrist, shuffle them around, and everything's business as usual.
They should cut off that money as well as some thing else of his
