Police an not be trusted, and they they are given even more power to racial profile. This only give the movement of illegals more power on their end to be here wrongly in the first place when police are dicks. Kick them out correctly so it takes care of the problem int he first place. Don't harass the ones who did it the right way.

It isn't just cops. I travel a lot and have become use to using my passport for ID all the time. Unless its for a traffic stop and I have to pull out my DL. Twice in the past 3 years I have gone into a branch of my bank to make transactions and when I gave them my passport for ID they promptly told me that they only accepted state ID. Since when does the bank - also a federal institution - not recognize a passport. Of course when she got her supervisor to handle me, she was informed they did accept a passport as ID.
I love how Arizona only makes you renew your driver's license every 25 years - or something like that. And for the same amount of money I pay for 4 years.

Sad to say, but both of my brothers are cops and uneducated is THE word ! I love them both dearly, but their training makes them stupid in my opinion. Aggression, aggression, aggression. Redundant, redundant, redundant. Cyclic redundancy. Then again, maybe it is just me. I doubt it though.

Well glad to see that from this incident, the DPD will at least get training in what a valid ID is and isn't and how to handle it. It's a shame this guy had to stay in jail 5 days due to uneducated officers. Glad they made some kind of restitution on his suit also.
