Seems to me as if she wanted out of an abusive relationship. No where left to go but death, in her mind. Poor girl. There are so many other ways to get out and deal with it. My heart goes out to her and her family.
Could be but I wouldnt be so quick to call it an abusive relationship, some people are just a lot more sensitive and fragile than others. Plus the fact that the boyfriend apparently jumped into the water after her, which has to show he cared about her to some extent. I also heard she was quite drunk, mix over sensitive people with alcohol and you always have a mess on your hands.
That much is true. But, I have a sixth sense about some things. Drinking is not going to make someone jump 75 feet into freezing water.... unless you happen to be a teen after thrills. As far as the boyfriend ... just protecting his investment. Or trying to. EPIC FAIL.

Yeh I think you could be right it is more common here. The alcohol related violence here is insane on weekends, even in my little home town. Brits just dont know when to stop

To be fair Stan, i suspect that in the UK / Ireland / any mediterranean holiday resort popular with the Brits and Irish we see rather more fucked up intoxicated behaviour then they do across the big pond... :)
I have seen some people go a bit weird and crazy after a bit of drinking, usually women actually and thats not a sexist remark its merely an observation. Maybe she was really stupid enough to think it wouldnt be that cold and she would be fine lol who knows.
