65-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Bringing Gun Through Security

An old woman was arrested at Dallas-Fort Worth International airport for taking a .38-caliber pistol aboard an American Airlines flight. The old woman, amazingly, had already boarded the plane, a full two hours after TSA called airport security. The woman had apparently left the checkpoint "prior to surrendering the firearm." Dallas Observer has the full story.

Sounds like the TSA people involved should be arrested too, for an epic fail.
I wonder why she didn't just check the gun so it could go with her?
