Joshua Hoggan Met With Columbine Principal Before School-Bombing-Plot Bust

Breakfast reading from the Village Voice Empire: Hoggan and a pal allegedly wanted to explode a device during a school assembly to maximize the body count. On his "Heil Hoggan" Twitter account, he wrote, "I know I'm a fuck up, but I didn't know I was that bad." Westword has the story.

They had blueprints, an idea, a hare-brained scheme, and a delusional expectation of privacy on a public social network. For that, for talking about committing mayhem, destruction, and murder, they'll be going away for a long time, if they're convicted.
No one was hurt, they had no explosives, and I've read nothing about them having stockpiled weapons or ammunition. So far, their crime seems to be having had a really bad idea and then talking about it. I wonder how out of balance the sentencing will be considering the lack of actual, physical harm done.
Kids are watching far too much trash on TV and playiong too many vidoes games after school these days. IF they even attend school regularly. Its pretty difficult to come up with the idea to level a school and your pals from an episode of Flipper or Gilligan's Island or the ABC After School Special.
And after wacking off to Mary-Ann or on an odd, feel like using my left-hand day, Ginger, one's mood was much better.
Now if one would whack off to Flipper, you might be one of the few souls more troubled than a potential school shooter.

In all seriousness though, yes, thank the good Lord above this was found out before anyone could be injured or killed.
My 2: I wouldn't be too quick to say that any school shooter/bomber thinks they need revenge on the world. I'm not saying that all of them haven't got that mind set, I'm just saying don't paint them all with the same brush. Highschool is a stressful environment; there is pressure to "fit in", pressure from the staff, pressure from the parents and coaches, cyberbullying/bullying, discrimination and ridicule based on sexual orientation or socioeconomic background...It's hard on even the strongest of kid...
Now factor in a mental illness like Bi-Polar Disorder, Anti-Social Personality Disorder, ADHD, or maybe an altered mental status from frequent substance abuse. Or maybe there's some abuse going on at home adding to that stress.
The best way to deal with this sort of thing is to see the signs really early, have all the help lines open that you can, train train and train your staff some more, ask a little more of your counsellors and nurses.....If they show any sure signs of committing an act of violence against the school, get them the hell out of there and into a treatment facility where they will be closely monitored and given the help and counselling they need.
You just gotta wonder, wtf they think they needed revenge on the world.. they haven't been around long enough to know how bad it is really gonna fuck them now....
