Kathryn Murray: Another Teacher Charged With Sexing A 15-Year-Old Student

Kathryn Murray was teaching at her alma mater, a suburban Houston middle school, when she decided to have sex with a 15-year-old student. She apparently hinted to another teacher about the relationship, and soon the cops came knocking.Houston Press has the story.

Found them in bed together, I don't think they were letting him watch, but still stupid as crap to be doing that in his home with his brother there.
Yeah, but it sounds better if they let him watch. The whole thing was pretty stupid. She was blabbing to some other teacher. Seems like she wanted to get caught. "Look at me, I can screw a teenager!"
Yeah was a pretty stupid thing on her part, usually its the 15 yr old that runs their mouth...
Its a shame she chose to throw her career away like that. Very immature of her. She doesn't need to be teaching, that is certain.
The Houston area seems to have had a number of these cases this school year. Maybe I should move.
If what we've read is true, then this woman must get = punishment for statutory rape on teenboy as a man would get for statutory rape on teen girl. BTW, I know that in many states, they've lowered the consent age to 17 or even 16 but that's a bad idea. The minimum consent age for sex should be 18.
Finally, as to the transgender comment, transexuality is a sad mutilation which should be abolished. It's wrong to mutilate a man to make him a fake woman or in some cases viceversa just as it's wrong to surgically change skin color because some1 thinks they're of another race. Abolish this abomination.
18 is merely the legal age of consent that most jurisdictions have lowered anyway. Its an arbitrary number based on when a person is legally responsible for themselves. Doesn't have anything to do with a persons physiological need/desire for sex. Which is why some have lowered the age of consent. There is no point in filling our already over populated jails with horny people who couldn't/didn't control themselves in a moment of passion. Maybe we should lower the age of consent to 15 across the board.
That being said, I don't understand what these women are getting out of young boys. She def deserves the same punishment a man would get for preying on a 15 yo girl but I doubt she will get it.
All you can do is take care of yourself, Snow. No point in worrying about others who decide to have elective surgery for whatever reason. Live & let live. You'll live longer.
Unfortunately, the consent age varies with state. NY I believe is 17 yet Georgia's age for consent is 13. I'm not sure why the states haven't gotten together and somehow standardized the age for consent like they have on the consent for drinking alcohol and buying smokes. Who know's. Bottom line is that no matter what, one must abide by the law in the state they live in, thus, this young lady is guilty as charged and must take what she gets. Now I really can't understand whyMs. Murray wasn't able to find a man at an appropriate age. She seems to be a looker and as a teacher, should know better.
hell I didn't like the 15 yr old when I was 15 yrs old... much less want one of them when I was her age.
Age of consent in both Alabama and Georgia is 16. There is also no close-in-age exception either.
I don't understand the [age] disparity either. And WOW about Georgia being 13. Are you certain of that? Not doubting you but I never heard of any state where age of consent was THAT young. I think most states are 16 and 17. Just WOW. I do remember many years ago that there was a rural county in GA where you could marry at a very young age, either with or without a parent's consent. Kingston Co. or something like that.
We agree about the punishment, I just don't think our penal system is as tough on female pedos as they are males. Reason being - as I have read in several places, it is the belief of some that male predators are far more dangerous and can do more harm than women. Maybe that is true, IDK. Hope I never have to find out first hand. I'd be mortified if either of my kids were fooling around with a minor.
You would think teachers would be more respectful of their students and not want to breech that relationship. Along the same lines of boss/employee. Once you step over, its hard to regress and whatever respect was there is certainly lost. I just hope she isn't allowed to teach children again.
