Well, it was a plan, of sorts. Lisha Underwood might have thought she could fly under the radar by changing the stolen $25,439.26 check she had to $8,439.26. But as soon as the canceled check arrived at the company that wrote it, an investigation started, which was helped by the fact Underwood had given her driver's license when she cashed the thing. I had a check get mailed to a similar named company in TN and they deposited it into their account. Shit like this sucks.
Something tells me she won't get a break for only stealing 1/3 of the original amount of the check. What kind of gas station cashes checks that large? Most of them have signs up that say they don't accept a bill larger than a $20. Go figure.
