When you spend nearly $6,000 for a slightly used car you find on Craigslist, maybe you should do some checking if the registration says the seller is "Marcus Hertz." What a couple of idiots. At least they were able to catch these two. Years ago in the early 80s my parents bought a car from Budget or Hertz and the sale went ok but at some point prior to the purchase it had been reported stolen. Prob because they were late in returning the car. But they never retracted the stolen status and my brother was arrested and spent the night in jail til they got it all worked out.
Bless. I bet they were real proud of themselves too, before they got caught. "What a fantastic idea! I wonder why nobody else thought of this? We must be geniuses!"

I wonder what kind of car it was? May have been worth a lot more in parts.
