Brittany Martinez: EMT Paid Hitman $1,0000 To Kill Firefighter Husband
Brittany Martinez, an EMT, was having marital problems with her husband, a Houston firefighter. So she hired a hitman to kill him, providing $1,000, a picture, and tips on best to make the hit at his fire station. She also wanted to be sure the job would be done before he discovered she had taken the $1,000 out of their bank account. Houston Press has the story.

$1,000 is that all her husbands life was worth to her?
I would love to slap that pathetic look off its face....
$1 a slap? I would take a few of those.... have to get some money out of the bank first but at least I don't need to explain that to anyone lol
$1,000 cash...wow...I can get a drunk to do things like this for a buzz and some booze. Amazing how folks will throw their money away. Hmphhh
Wow, what an idiot. LOL about having it done before he realized the money was missing. Yeah I guess that would be hard to explain.
Why for gods sake do folks feel the need to kill their spouses...granted I know they can drive you crazy as hell... but dayum.... $250 can get you an uncontested divorce most anyplace.
I'd just say to anyone considering such things, be extremely careful. Those do it yourself things seem like a great idea, and seem like they'll save you money, but that's not always the case. If you have a house to divide up, kids to do a custody schedule for, a spouse's pension or other retirement benefits that you may be entitled to a portion of, a claim for alimony or spousal support, etc., those do it yourself kits simply do not work. You may end up losing money in the end. As distasteful and expensive as attorneys tend to be, sometimes they're the lesser of two evils.
I think sicric meant that as in a quickly situation non-contested type thing where both parties just want it done and over with. But I'm just guessing though.
I agree with you. I think those are only good for people with virtually nothing to split up.
I did do my own paperwork to probate mom's stuff when she passed away, but no other siblings or husbands....just me, saved myself about $500
oops, its been a while...guess they don't anymore...lol, wouldnt' have mattered though bless her heart, she didn't have much to start with and it took all of it for her health care.

Interesting. Looks like AL doesn't have to file inheritance tax on anything since '04.
If I remember correctly back in the 90s when hubby's grandmother died in AL you didn't have to pay taxes on anything less than $365,000. I'd have to check with him to be sure because he helped his mother with all that.
They do have a tax here in AL, for me the thing was everything she had went to take care of her in her last few years.
No shit, right? I was curious b/c in my state, once you've opened the probate estate, you have to file that return regardless of what you don't have.
Good girl! There are definitely times when a little self -help goes a long way. Did you have to do an inheritance tax return in your state, to file with the dept of revenue (or equivalent)?
girl, you ain't telling me nothing... I got screwed royally my first divorce... you can bet I will use my own lawyer (young and stupid, I know)...lmao... but don't plan on a divorce anytime soon or ever that I foresee... I may have to bury him in the back yard... JUST KIDDING.... but then ya'll would find out about it and never let me live it down....
