How in the world do you chop off somebody's finger, no, worse - RING finger, with a croquet mallet???? My brain does not compute.
Had to have been pure pressure that knocked it off. Not the kind of injury you'd expect from a crochet mallet...
Right? Especcially knocking off one of the fingers but leaving the fingers on either side in situ!
Actually, thinking about it it might not have been so hard, depending on how the victim was holding his hand. My then 3yo managed to get his hand stuck in a door and chop the tip of his ringfinger off without even bruising the fingers on either side.
