Breakfast reading from the Village Voice Empire: Rockwell says after he spotted what he thought was a bird that had been terrorizing his cats, he grabbed his rifle and fired. What did he do after hearing a moan instead of a squawk? Westword has the story.

Personally I'd have liked to have seen him with additional charges and some time. Shooting a supposed imaginary cardinal does not constitue discharging a firearm within city limits.
I agree and why wasn't he charged for having a fire arm since he is a felon and not supposed to have one. Crap, you you aren't going to enforce the laws, why have them.
You gotta admit though... i mean, i know it was clearly marked and everything, but straight in the noggin' from 90 feet away? It's a little impressive.

Bastard tried to shoot a cardinal? They are my favorite kind of bird. (Unless, you count roast turkey, God I love roast turkey) Maybe it's because their call is the only one I recognize, maybe it's because of their happening red feathers, maybe it's because one used to sit outside my window when I was a kid. Either way, DON'T SHOOT THE CARDINAL!!!
