Hemi the rescue dog had a hard life -- he was abused before being adopted, and then one East Texas night he wandered away, only to come back skinned alive, covered in blood. By the time the daughter who saw him got her mother, Hemi had walked off to die. Houston Press has the story.

::sighs sadly:: this is just a heart breaking story... I rarely find myself tearful at these stories, but this one just hurts to the core. I don't understand how anyone could do that to a poor defenseless animal. I sure hope they find these wastes of breath and charge then to the full extent of the law. My heart just breaks for that little girl and what she had to see and go through...
once saw a dog after a fight with the neighbors dogs- looked just like it had been skinned except the blanket of fur was hanging off ,the vet was able to reattach it. nothing to suggest a human animal was responsible here. the wandering off to die part stinks to - dont dogs usually go home when hurt?
My dog Wrigley did the same thing to a coyote that had gotten on to the property. It was 3/4 skinned. It was hiding in an open kennel, scared and probably in a lot of pain so I shot it and called game and fish dept to come get it. Those cocksuckers sent me a bill for $130.
What an awful way for that poor little dog to die. I don't know how someone could do this. Sickening.
That is the most revolting thing I've read in a long time. I hope they catch the psychopath who did it before he kills someone.
Oh yes, and how devastating for the poor little girl to find her beloved pet in that way. That must have been heartbreaking.
I was perfectly happy until i read this. This story has just pissed me the fuck OFF. How could anyone do something like that to a dog??? Aside from the cruelty and the need for punishment (please let me do it - i'll pay for my own plane ticket) - the person who did this URGENTLY needs to be caught. To be so depraved that you're able to do this to a little dog - that's not just the makings of a serial killer - that's a dangerous psychopath about to make a name for him / herself. I really believe whoever did this WILL kill people if he is not stopped.

This has got to be one of the most horrific and heart breaking stories I've ever read in my life. What a terrible thing to do to an animal. I'm sure, that if there truely is a heaven, that this animal surely sits there.
