Hyung Kyo Chung Allegedly Too Drunk to Get Medical Care for Puppy With Broken Jaw
Breakfast reading from the Village Voice Empire: Chung claimed that the puppy was injured when someone fell on him during a party, although his vet thought the dog looked as if he'd been kicked in the face. And his broken jaw wasn't the first time one of his bones had snapped. Westword has the story.

They should have received way more that 24 hours community service and they should NEVER be allowed to own a pet again. I hope these two meet up with a pissed off pit or rott and get their asses chewed off.
Awful. Animal cruelty is one thing I definitely don't tolerate. If I witnessed anything of the sort, I'd damn well do something about it physically with the person involved.
Probation?? Their puppy suffered multiple broken bones whilst in their care, for which they didn't seek medical attention, and all they got was PROBATION??? That's fucked up. Christ, can you imagine?? That poor dog must have been in agony with a broken jaw, yet they ignored him for at least a full day (if we believe the story that it happened the night before) before getting him seen to. And even then the way the article is written it sounds like he was brought in for a scheduled medical checkup rather than emergency care.
I just hope that poor pooch is now out of their hands and has finally found a loving home.
I had a broken jaw (stress fracture) for over a year. (Radiation to the area caused it not to be able heal properly.) And I can tell you it hurts like hell. On the bright side, dogs don't really suffer from they pain as we do. They accept it. I once saw this dog on one of those animal cop shows. It's leg had been completely cut of and went untreated for over a month I think it was. It was horrible. You could see the edge of it moving around as the dog was running around. To be honest though, I think I hurt more for that dog than it actually did because it was just running around, jumping up and down, greeting the animal cops, happy as a clam.
Ghandi said something like (And I'm completely paraphrasing here, I only really remember the gist of it. ) To suffer is to desire something. In this case, freedom from pain. Dogs are pretty accepting with their lot in life (Which of course makes what these people did worse, IMO.)
Wrong dogs do feel pain, they just can't tell us, you can't say they don't. What you see on a show is one thing but being there is another. I have personally seen the pain and worked with dogs with broken bones yes the feel pain.
I'm not trying to say it isn't wrong. Or even that people shouldn't feel bad for them. What I'm trying to say is the fact that they accept it makes it easier on them. Let me put it this way. I've had pretty severe back pain from scoliosis all my life. But since it's something I'm used to, I've accepted it. And while the pain may actually in all reality be worse than the pain I suffer in my jaw (broken, won't heal due to radiation, with nerve pain thrown in.) I suffer more from the jaw pain, because I keep waiting for it to get better. What I'm saying is animals are somewhat blessed because they don't have that problem. I'm sorry if I'm not putting this right, my intentions were to bring a bit of peace of mind to people, not to downplay the crime.
I don't think they FEEL it differently. I think they ACCEPT it differently. Laura, you're making it sound like dogs feel less pain when they probably just show less signs of feeling the same level of pain as a human would.
I didn't say they don't feel it, I said they feel it differently there is a distinct diffence.
