Ten Executions Gone Shockingly Wrong
Sorry, but if some spaghetti bender let loose on me or one of my friends with a shotgun of rock salt we would have beaten the hell out of him.
Breakfast reading from the Village Voice Empire: The boy was playing tag when Staffin allegedly grabbed him, pointed the weapon at him and yelled, "You could be dead!" Staffin later cooked up a crazy scheme to try to convince police he was innocent. Westword has the story.
Sorry, but if some spaghetti bender let loose on me or one of my friends with a shotgun of rock salt we would have beaten the hell out of him.
when i am the old ill problem be the old dude that sites on his porch with a shot gun in a rocking chair lol
This guy is a real dick. He could have severely injured those boys. My nephew lost his eye sight to a pellet gun when he was 3. The fact that he had to fake an injury to throw suspicion off himself is indicative of what a coward POS he is.
I dunno, to me the faked injury just tells me that he knew he did something wrong. Like he just got pushed over the edge and snapped, then regretted it. He doesn't seem like the type who pulls this kind of shit every day.
I agree that he knew he did something wrong. But what a chicken s*it move not to own it and fess up. Faking an injury because you know you shouldn't have put your hands on minor children and been aiming a gun at them [even if it was pellets and not bullets] is just lame. If there had been adults in his yard, instead of kids, I doubt he'd have been as brave.
Totally agree but when you allow the system to take advantage, we, as a society, tend to bend the truth in such a way, that we end up regretting it in the future. Just like now, people are always saying, as well as myself, what's the world come to when... But when you look back and take a real close look, you'll find that it's all our own fault. We've allowed to let it happen and empowered big brother to punish us. We're the ones responcible for putting ourselves in these situations.
I ain't buying it. He was in his right. It's his property and I don't believe anyone asked him if they could be on it. When I get older I might use my age as an excuse just to shoot a trespasser.
I don't think that matters. He should have called police if someone was trespassing on his property. They weren't INSIDE his house. He should be charged with assaulting minors. At least the ones he put his hands on and/or shot at. Stupid f*cker. [not you, SicRic].
I am not mad at all. Esp not at you. We can disagree. I just don't think its ever ok for people to put their hands on other's or to be pointing weapons at them. As you correctly pointed out, the kids don't know any better. Prob have no idea at all about property lines - I didn't when I was 12. Yes, the guy is aging, etc but he also knew what he did was wrong or he wouldn't have been trying to cover up with a fractured wrist. That to me shows he knows exactly what he was doing. He prob was either drinking or just an asshole of an individual who'd had an unusually bad day. No adult in their right mind would do what he did.
hey watch that old crap... hehehe, I'm only 21 but I have almost 29 years experience at it...lol
You really got your feathers ruffled on this Virgo. Okay, I'll just say one final thing in this matter...He's old and possibly getting weak in the head...Happens to us old folks...The kid was young and didn't know better. I truely believe that in this instance, all should be forgotten and that neighborhood should find a way to get together so they can learn to know and respect each others bounderies and maybe become good friends. Sorry Virgo if,n I got cha all mad.
You do know that so many times police are called but no one ever shows up in time? That has become so common that sometimes people snap out of fear. A slap on the patties is all, if anything, the ol fart should get.
He reminds me of the grumpy old bastard who used to sit on his front porch with a basket of rocks and chuck them at us kids when we got close to his place.
I need to find your old neighbors, just in case I starve to death becuz I can't go to the store because the kidz are threatening me...lol
Well they were pretty old when I was a kid... One fought in WW2... I don't imagine they're still alive, I know they were about 7 yrs ago, but it just didn't seem they'd make it too much longer... They were good people. Growing up I had such good neighbors on both sides of my house. I was always sad that that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. But where I live now, I think my neighbor's are pretty nice. They've helped me out on more than one occassion, and I've been able to return the favor. But it seems like it's more the norm not to even know your neighbor's name any more.
Ah yes. Scruffy, yellowing vest, pants hoisted up to the armpits, plaid slippers? I remember him well. ;)
The poor old goof. I somewhat can understand with him, beings as how the worlds been turning lately, but a pellet gun? A 12 year old? Holy crap, time for that long needed catarac operation and definately an upgrade on that hand gun. Shit, them pellet pistols can't even give you a good sting. I remember when I was round 14 and ol man Italiano let loose on me with some rock salt. You wanna talk about some serios pain and agony. The suffering I went through for weeks on my backside with all the festering and such. Damn, don't you know I never went on his property again...lol...Now those were the days. If you did something wrong, you had hell to pay, and don't go telling your mom and dad as yer ass whooping would get doubled fast...lol... Let the old coot have his day in court but make the kids come over and do his lawn and some chores. Maybe they'll get along after a few days in each others hair.
I can somewhat understand the old man's point of view, too - even if he took it way too far with the gun. We moved into a cul-de-sac ourselves 7 years ago and most of our neighbours are old folks - geriatric close we call it. Of course now we have a couple of kids and some of the neighbours have moved on and young families have moved in. But you know what, it's all about respect. I don't mind making sure that my kids know not to go into other people's yards without being invited, and my neighbours don't mind 'lively' ;) childhood chatter in the adjacent garden in summer. I do wonder whether the kids in the story ever got taught to be respectful of their elders, or whether the parents just kept brushing off the old guy's complaints.
You are absolutly correct on the "respect" end. I'm all for respect your elders and the such but anymore, these times are producing some hard core kidz. I, being a member of the "geritol team", lol, make any and all attempts to try to know all the neighborhood kidz and families. Ya know, sit on the porch, wave at all the folks driving. I mean hey, if someone's around that's new or unusual I need to know. If even to only ease my mind, sort of speak. All the kidz know me and respect me and even the parents tell there kidz, don't fuck with ol man P cuz you know he'll run ya down and bring you home...lol... Gotta love it when parents raise their children in the proper manner.
