For some reason my mom was particularly opposed to the word crap. My kids still aren't allowed to say it when they're at her house. LOL

My parents were like sailors when I was growing up, they only word I never heard them say was the N word. That one was the big bad one in my house. It wasn't until I was a teenager that they went all religious and cleaned up their mouths LOL. Now, if I accidently even just say ass in front of her, I'm backtracking  and correcting myself. It's not as bad for me as it is with my lil bro, if he slips up she still smacks him in the back of the head, LOL.

Yeah the worst I ever heard from my folks was damn or shit, the occasional son of a bitch...lol... why I was so surprised...she was mad at something too...   I remember growing up my folks wouldn't even let me use the word...dern... it was a form a damn to them.

Ahhh, she knew you were a smartie. She knew she could laugh cuz she had a lil girl that had a head on her shoulders.

My parents rarely cussed...at least in front of kids so I too can remember the first time I ever heard them utter the words. It was in frantic and desperate situations, to be sure. lol. 

My sister went out of town on a school band trip and dad was trying to call her in Chicago. Back in the day when you had to go through an operator. It wasn't going well and long distance was expensive and we could tell pop was stressing. All of a sudden he screams "Operator, YOU SUCK!!' Now that isn't so bad today but back in '74 you didn't hear dignified men saying things like that.

Years ago when my son was young and repeating everything he heard, I had couple of friends, they were twins, both in the military and both thought the word was to be used between every other word.... started charging them a quarter every time they used it.... when my mom called to ask me if I knew what my son was saying jumping up and down on the bed.... FU FU FU...lmao

Many people use it and mostly its no big deal. At least to me.

I can remember back as a child when that was the absolute worst word and thing you could say to somebody & rarely used. Today its the norm and rarely offensive.
