Toddler Dumped in Snow by Car Thief Tells Good Samaritan: "Help Me, I'm Cold"
Breakfast reading from the Village Voice Empire: The three-year-old's dad stepped out of his still-running Chrysler to chat with pals when the car was stolen. Blocks later, the thief left the toddler at the curb with a bag of diapers and some soy milk. Westword has the story.

And the "Dumbass of the day" award goes to the father. It is sheer stupidity to leave your vehicle running in a convenience store parking lot in the first place, let alone with your kid inside.
I've done it on occasion, but I my kids are older and I have my oldest sit in the front seat with the doors locked and strict instructions to honk like crazy if anyone approaches the vehicle. When they were younger though, you couldn't have paid me to do this kind of shit, too many stories about the terrible shit that can happen when you do that.
You know I am not going to defend the guy exactly but would it have been better had he taken the kid with him and then left him somewhere further away and scared the kid even more..Not sure what the car thief handbook says to do in this situation but I would hardly expect the guy to drop the kid at the nearest police station or whatever and risk being caught. He is a rat for stealing cars to begin with which is the reason this all happened but I imagine he shit a brick when he realised the kid was there and he probably thought leaving the kid close enough to the crime would mean he would be found quickly? I dunno I am just passing time, I am gone in 10 mins to a meeting..got my caffeine pills to keep me awake this time lmao
Awe poor little guy.......Stupid Father........Atleast this jackass car thief didn't kill the little guy but he could have handed him off to a convenience store clerk or something.Just glad he's ok he is pretty smart for a three year old to know to ask someone for help like that.
I know, I'm not sure there are a lot of kids that age out there who would know to go find someone the way he did.
Thats a good point but in the thiefs mind he wouldnt want to go anywhere he may be caught on camera or allow other people to get a description of him.
Yep I'm sure he was thinking that too.......I wasn't thinking with my criminal mind when I wrote that. Lmao
The title is enough to break your heart. The thought of what this child went through only makes it worse.
WTF? Who takes their 3 yo on a drive at 2 A friggin' M? To talk to his pals?? WTF do you think they invented phones for, you eejit??
I bet that car thief wasn't expecting a passenger that young either, he must have shat his pants when he realised. But he must be a speshul kind of stupid to leave a 3yo on the cold & wet street in the middle of the night. What if the poor boy had happened to ring the doorbell of some sort of pedophile? Nobody would have ever found the child. SMH. Thank goodness the kid is safe.
