Xcel Energy Calls April Fool's Day Letters About Power Cuts Fraud

Breakfast reading from the Village Voice Empire: Boulder, Colorado voters sanctioned officials to explore dumping Xcel and starting their own power company. The letters said anyone who went against the firm would have their power cut immediately. Xcel was not amused. Westword has the story.

That's not a joke, that's a bitterly composed slanderous letter intended to do harm to Xcel. The letter was set up to look legitimate, including their logo, gas leak emergency phone number and advice of what to do in case of a gas leak.
Also quite intrigued how they managed to claim it was an April's fool joke when the letter is not dated and the postal services don't work on a Sunday (April 1st was on Sunday this year).
I wonder if the company hired some one to pull this in order to try to make them good guys and seem like there no a monopoly
