Breakfast reading from the Village Voice Empire: There were plenty of suspects after Anderson's body was found strangled in the trunk of her own car. But no one has paid for the crime -- and nine other featured crimes are just as shocking, and just as unresolved. Westword has the story.

I read this article last week or so, it's so sad. A lot of these people were killed for small amounts of money and mistaken identity. Is life that cheap?
"more than 1500 unsolved homicides in Colorado" - and that's only the ones we know about. How many more that we haven't found, or classed as accidents, or attributed to the wrong person?
It's a good thing there's no such thing as a statistic of how many murders we solve vs. how many murderers get away with it. I bet it would depress the hell out of everybody.
I heard somewhere that it's actually a majority of murders that go unsolved. Apparently, it's a lot easier to get away with it than one would think. Not a thought that helps me sleep at night...
I would say it is definitely easier to get away with than LE would like us to think. If for example you killed someone you maybe just met and there was nothing to link you to this person..and you didnt leave any evidence at the scene or brag about it on facebook etc I would say you would have a fair chance of getting away with it.
