Idiot Insurance Scammers Busted After Using Same Crappy Furniture In All Their Fake House Fires

If you're going to scam an insurance company out of a renter's claim -- and you don't want to get caught -- there are a few simple steps you should follow. Gustavo Diaz, Alina Nunez, and their gang got the first part right by renting apartments under different names, stocking them with furniture and waiting a while so they seemed to be lived in before setting them on fire. Alas, their cheapness led to a fatal error: Prosecutors say they used the same set of crappy Goodwill furniture in scores of bogus fires -- including the same picture frame full of the same "family photos." Diaz and 19 others all face felony fraud charges now. Miami New Times has the story.
