Breakfast reading from the Village Voice Empire: Mathis ran down a couple in the middle of a street, hitting the man so hard that he went airborne -- something clearly captured in surveillance video. As she sped away, a sharp-eyed driver followed. Westword has the story.

Deferred Sentence??? WTF??? So now, because you say your soory and/or I didn't see them you're on auto "poor baby"??? I certainly would hope at least her comm. svc. in in a ER as a Candy Sriper or something so you can see the results of folks who don't watch where they're going.
How soon after was she arrested? 'Cause i'm thinking there may have been an additional charge of DUI if she'd have stopped, and that's why she ran. Although, by all accounts, she needn't have bothered; if mowing down and severely injuring a couple of people doesn't warrant jailtime, then a widdle bit of booze wouldn't have made much difference, either. Seriously SMDH. How the fuck is a deferred sentence meant to be any kind of deterrent? For her, or anybody else?
