Breakfast reading from the Village Voice Empire: Crouse, who has chronic leukemia, had a doctor's recommendation for 75 marijuana plants. Prosecutors didn't buy it and put the hammer down, to no avail. How long is the DA's losing streak now? Westword has the story.

I don't think much longer before they catch a clue. But, what are they going to do about it is the real question. They can either listen to the citizens in which they serve or they can come up with other stupid ways of punishing these people. Every time they lose a case its like having their ass handed to them in front of a global audience and you'd think they would tire of it. Marijuana isn't going away and they may as well deal with it. I just wish the Feds would take themselves out of it. Its really none of their business how the states handle it. I'm worried though, that like raising the legal drinking age back in the late 70s and early 80s from 19 to 21, the Feds are going to use Federal Highway Funding to manipulate the states to do what they want. While it really won't affect me directly if marijuana is legalized because I won't be smoking it either way, I can see the forest for the trees and pissing away good $$$ for nothing in return is stupid.
