Tahca Christensen Allegedly Blames Baby's Drowning Death on Two Year Old
Breakfast reading from the Village Voice Empire: Christensen put the infant in a bath chair alongside his two-year-old sibling, then turned on the shower and left to make breakfast. What'd the older child do that caused Christensen to point her finger? Westword has the story.

I'm very sorry for her loss. If she knew the 2 year old liked to play with the bath stopper she should have removed the stopper from the tub. And she was gone a long time if her faucet is anything like mine. It would take at least 10 minutes for 6 inches of water to accumulate in my tub. That shit is slow. But OBVIOUSLY you don't leave a baby alone in water. And you especially don't leave a baby in a potentially dangerous situation with an impulsive inexperienced with life TWO YEAR OLD. The two times I've let my 1 year old and 3 year old bathe together have been stressful and frightening and I was of course right beside them. The girl likes to start dumping water over his head and trying to hug him. I could see how she could easily accidentally kill him just playing with him. And I'm extra wary of the possibility because she somehow got a hold of a strip of cloth we used to tie back curtains, put it around his neck, and was DRAGGING him across the floor in the 5 minutes I was in kitchen. I heard weird gurgling sounds, went to check it out, and was greeted by that horror. If I'd had the radio on or the dishwasher I'd never even have heard it. He'd be dead or brain damaged, and she'd pretty much be ruined for life once she realized what she'd done. NIGHTMARE. Seriously, I now feel like crying. That was terrible. I'm also going to add that if she'd bothered to read the directions with the bath seat or do any kind of research prior to having children she'd have come across a warning MANY times advising that bath seats are not safety devices, children have drowned because they tip and trap the child in a pocket of water, NEVER LEAVE CHILD UNATTENDED. Am I the only one that read like 10 baby books and endless streams of internet sites about babycare prior to birthing my first child? Even my husband, a normally very intelligent man, wanted to just plop the 1 year old in the tub with my daughter and go make dinner. DUMB!
I can see that [kids loving the shower] if you are in fact in the shower with them and and playing. But not so much leaving your babes in the shower seats while you go make breakfast for someone.
Now see my kids loved it, in fact my youngest still likes playing in the rain. Of course I never left them alone.
The thing about turning on the shower sickens me...the visual I get is like water boarding your babies. Never put mine in the shower except when they had croup and we were in the shower with them, holding them, getting the steam/vapor. I really don't understand this, but giving the young parents the benefit of the doubt. Its possible the baby was already dead and the shower was a set up but that hasn't been mentioned by LE.
They look too young to have kids and probably why they possibly didn't know any better than to leave kids alone in water. Fortunate that the two year old didn't die as well.
One can only wish that common sense would smack them up side the head with a 2x4 before something happens like this...:smh:
I am having a hard time reading this as a child abuse case.... stupidity oh a mighty 100%, I do feel for her having lost her child and she admits to it also her fault, didn't really seeing her blame the two year old... she will have to live with this the rest of her life.
