A Mesa, Arizona man and his dog are accused of biting police officers inside a Target store in an incident that ended with the man getting tased multiple times, and the dog getting shot by police inside the store. The Phoenix New Times has the full story.

If I were out with my dog at target (is that possible?) and there arose a situation that neccisitated biting someone, I would let my dog handle that.
