And he’s definitely not the type of dude you should feed inside info on a lucrative bid to redo the city’s convention center. Gus Lopez, Miami Beach’s former procurement director, learned all that the hard way. He’s under arrest today on corruption charges because prosecutors say he did all of the above to help Walter Garcia, a local businessman and convicted felon. Miami New Times has the story.
