Pedro Ayala-Leyva gets record 30-year sentence for smuggling meth from California

A leader of a large meth smuggling ring extending from California to rural Wisconsin received a record sentence for a Minnesota drug crime. Though sentencing guidelines called for just a seven-year sentence, a judge gave Pedro Ayala-Leyva 30 years for smuggling meth from Cali to the Twin Cities suburbs. City Pages has the full story.
