Breakfast reading from the Voice Media Empire: Little Tobi was taken to the hospital with injuries her mom and significant other said were from a tumble down the stairs. The X-ray didn’t pick up the skull fracture, and the doctor okayed the child’s return even though a former babysitter had already reported signs of abuse. Weeks later, the girl was dead. After Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls sat down with Jason Sheats — whose wife, Christy Sheats, killed their two daughters before a police officer fatally shot her — Nehls made public what Jason believed may have led to the tragic event.
“We asked Mr. Sheats for a motive in his own words, and why would Christy kill their two daughters,” Nehls said at a news conference. “He stated that he felt Christy wanted him to suffer. During this incident, Christy had ample time and opportunity to shoot and kill Mr. Sheats in the home, but she chose not to. Mr. Sheats stated Christy knew how much he loved Taylor and Madison, and how much they loved him.”
Cara had just jumped out of the shower, thrown on a T-shirt and plopped down on the couch to finish some homework when she heard someone pounding at the front door. She was stunned by what she saw when she peered out the window: Several uniformed police officers had gathered on her lawn, some, she thought, with guns drawn, “like I was some killer or something.” Police cruisers swarmed the front of her father’s League City home.

It’s every parent’s nightmare: That mall Santa isn’t a well-adjusted, gainfully employed middle-aged man who just likes spreading Christmas cheer by having little kids sit on his lap, but a sexual predator.
That nightmare came to life, federal agents say, when they found more than 1,000 child-porn images on the computer of a 37-year-old man who’s played Santa Claus “for the past 15 years throughout the South Texas area,” according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
A Sharpstown High School math tutor faces two felony charges related to an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student. Aldo Leiva has been charged with sexual performance by a child and possession of child pornography, after the 51-year old instructor was allegedly caught having a sexual relationship with a 17-year old student.
The text messages allegedly showed that Leiva liked superhero-themed role-play; Leiva allegedly referred to himself as “Batman” and called his penis “Robin,” and police allege that one photo found on the girl’s phone shows Leiva wearing a Batman mask. Leiva allegedly wrote to the girl “I want to poke you with my robin” in a text message exchange that police said occurred while the girl was in class.
Four decades after little Gary Ray Hose vanished, his brothers are certain he was murdered by their mother in 1974 and buried on a piece of land in Pinal County.
Following two unsuccessful searches, Guy Hose, now 50, says detectives from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office have given up on finding the remains of his missing kid brother.
“The sheriff’s department has already told us that Gary is not a priority — they got other cases that are more important and more current,” Guy says. “My brother has been laying dead out in the desert for almost 43 years now. When is he going to get justice?”
